blueangelYou may have noticed the quotes from “A Course In Miracles” I have placed on some of the pictures on this website, so let me offer my unqualified bias by stating that ACIM is one of the most profound scriptures ever brought to this world. It not only contains the eternal truth of reality, but it is written in a beautiful, poetic way, often in blank verse. That being said, it is can also be very annoying and incredibly irritating to the ego-mind that has the mad idea that it runs the world!

These days we often hear the greeting, “love and light!” It covers all that is good and positive in our lives and it is also in alignment with many ancient traditional greetings. In the new spiritual wisdom we are told to only focus or concentrate on what we want to increase or sustain in our lives, and if we do that, evil or darkness cannot exist or be represented in our lives. This is true, but.. it is not as simple as that.

It is a fact that as we focus on what we want to increase and enhance in our lives what we do not want becomes a rarity. Again this is absolutely true, however, we do not live our lives alone. The mental influence, or thoughts and beliefs of others infiltrates our energetic field, and thus our lives... this is inevitable.. this is part of living here in Earth School.

There is a huge part of me that is more than a little bemused by the clear and undisputed fact that I use Facebook -- yet at the same time I have been “trolled” as well as openly and obliquely manipulated by this megalithic, faceless, monster of a media platform.

Luckily a sense of humour and dash of irony puts it all in perspective.

This week several friends used a facebook app to put a rainbow over their profile picture to support gay marriage equality. And, not surprisingly, all hell broke loose once again. Several friends were vilified by facebook trolls and other lovelies for being gay or ... whatever (yawn) and now there are numerous threads banging on about it. So let’s explore this from a spiritual point of view, or at least my point of view as a dedicated Facebook participant!

“After Life” which is even scarier than the Jehovah’s Witness ideal of a world filled only with their followers!

This is the same basic theme offered by authors such as David Icke who offers the theory that reptilian overlords control the world and our minds, and have done so from the very beginning. My main concern with reptilian overlords is that humanity tends to label anything or anyone who has an “ugly” appearance as evil. We see this in all our horror movies and it is the same problem faced by the hunchback of Notre-dame, and we all know that sharks scowl whereas dolphins smile!

At the same time, the sugary-sweet visions of “heaven” offered by most members of the spiritualist movement is equally depressing and unsatisfying, if you really look at it. Most of the visions sound terminally boring at best, but of course, when we compare this vision with a life in this world where most people have to work hard, deal with health issues and family problems, a life of sitting around doing nothing can sound very tempting.

Of course, in the end, you must discover your own understanding of the Afterlife via your own inner knowing and your own psychic wisdom. My experience is that everyone automatically gravitates to the level of their personal knowing or personal vibration and sadly, there isn’t a “one size fits all” answer. It is very much like the cream in the milk which rises by its own consistency rather than via conscious meditation or thinking about rising above the heavier milk.

The biggest obstacle to overcoming any issues of evil or reptilian overlords and the like, is our belief in those obstacles. In the end, and I know you know this, love conquers all because it rises above all, but we must focus on feeling and exuding love, not just thinking loving thoughts or making it an intellectual exercise. By all means, use thoughts to help you get a handle on love, but know it is only when you can sit (stand or run) and feel it flow from your heart-soul out to everyone, everything (including those reptilian overlords!) and then back again do all obstacles dissolve back into the nothingness from which they came!

It is really simple! if you think about it!

There is always lots of discussions, workshops, books and seminars on that old “chestnut” ascension. This is only natural because in the end, we all ache to know the true, eternal reason of our creation and most importantly, how to live our lives in harmony, love and light. We all "know" that our essence is love, but we have managed to wallpaper over that truth which is why so many people feel lost. In the end, ascension means to ascend, or rise up (or back) into the love of the true self, the love of our essence.

If you take a quick look at my site, read any of the blogs or any of my books, you will quickly discover that my underlying message for the world is self empowerment

Most of us begin our spiritual journeys when we realize that we are enslaved to ideas or beliefs that do not serve us or offer the eternal truth about life, the universe and everything. Slowly, often over many years, we extricate and eventually liberate ourselves from all dark and ugly belief systems that control the soul.

If you meet anyone who has completed this journey you will discover an enlightened being who brings only love and joy into the room because they have no desire to indoctrinate or control anyone or anything.

We have busy and active minds. We are often lost in thought, trying to remember the shopping list, as well as what we are going to say to so-and-so. We write “to do” lists and ponder various problems while we wash the dishes or walk the dog. It seems the busy mind never stops chattering and can interfere with sleep as well as meditation.

While most of us acknowledge we have busy minds, most people do not realize that the fact their minds are so busy is not because they need to meditate more, learn self discipline, or sort out the kids, the house and the career etc. We have busy minds because we do not really examine what we are seeking in life, let alone recognise how to create a plan of action to attain it.

We are all enrolled in the ever changing Universe/Earth-school, and although many of us have rolled our sleeves up to work on our karma, fear patterns, trust issues etc... a huge number of us try to slack off! This is natural, and indeed we all have our lazy moments. Yet we are not fooling anyone because the ever-beneficent universe smiles sweetly and then gives us all a loving kick in the bum to remind us yet again, that we have to actually complete our journey here, or we get stuck, going round and round for as long as it takes!
